Film Portrait Session on the beach — Costa da Caparica

It always amazes me how every beach photoshoot feels completely different — even when it takes place on the same place. The tides shift, the wind changes direction, the light carries a new color palette each time. And of course, there’s the mood of the person in front of the camera — which quietly shapes everything.

This portrait session happened on a bright, sunlit day, with countless seagulls circling above us. They were constantly in motion, appearing and disappearing in the frame. It’s not something you can plan or predict — and when it happens, it feels like a kind of quiet magic.

This beach photoshoot was captured mostly on film, which adds a softness and depth that feels especially natural by the ocean. Only the final moments, where movement became faster and more spontaneous, were photographed digitally.

There was a sense of ease in the way everything came together — a simple white dress, the wind, bare feet in the sand. Nothing styled too much, nothing forced. Just a calm, honest presence, allowing the portrait session to unfold naturally, somewhere between movement and stillness.
